Due to the high demand for the following courses and to ensure the best learning experience for students on campus, we have decided toclose the following courses effective immediately and will no longer accept applications for new students for the 2024 year 3 semester.


Affected courses will be impacted in the following aspects:

  • Master of Laws (9201)

  • Master of Information Technology (8543)

  • Graduate Certificate of Information Technology (7546)

  • Graduate Certificate in Computing (7543)

  • Master of Information Technology/Master of Commerce (8544)

  • Graduate Diploma in Information Technology (5546/5543)

  • Juris Doctor (9150)

  • For students both within and outside Australiathe online acceptance deadline will be adjusted to April 9 (Tuesday)11:59 PM Australian Eastern Time


1 Impact on students who have already applied

  • Applications from current applicants that have not yet been reviewed will still be assessed based on their preferred admission list. We will assess all applications as soon as possible before the admission deadline.

  • Students holding full and conditional offers canprovide any outstanding documents and accept their offers before the standard admission deadline of August 14 (Wednesday) 11:59 PM Australian Eastern Time.


2Students affected by the immediate closure of courses and the modification of the "online acceptance " deadline


  • UNSW Juris Doctor (9150)will no longer consider new applications for the 2024 year 3 semester. The UNSW online application "will no longer display this admission plan as a valid option. Please do not submit any previously saved applications. Applications submitted after the deadline will be considered for admission in the 2025 year 1 semester.

  • We will prioritize the assessment of current applicants who have not yet been assessed for these courses in the coming weeks to ensure that we can provide assessment results to applicants affected by this change as soon as possible.If the assessment indicates that additional documents are required, they must beuploaded via the "online application " by 11:59 PM Australian Eastern Time on March 26 (Tuesday) for further assessment of their application.We will assess all applications as soon as possible before the revised admission deadline. Incomplete documents submitted after the deadline will be considered for admission in the 2025 year first semester. Additionally, if students are no longer interested in the UNSW Juris Doctor (9150) course, they can request a refund of the application fee. (Note: Exemption applications are not eligible for a refund).


  • Holders of unconditional and conditional offers canaccept their offers by 11:59 PM Australian Eastern Time on April 9 (Tuesday). We will contact all current offer holders to inform them of the revised offer acceptance deadline and provide them with other options to consider.

  • Students who have already accepted their offers (including conditional offer students who have completed the UEEC course at UNSW College) will not be affected by the above revisions.
