Under the current global situation, visa processing delays have severely impacted international students. To support these affected students, the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) has announced an extension of the registration deadline for some courses, enabling them to successfully complete their studies.
RMIT recognizes the challenges and uncertainties of visa applications and is committed to providing necessary support and assistance to international students. Therefore, it is offering enrollment deferral opportunities specifically for those students who cannot arrive in Australia on time due to visa delays. This deferral policy applies to some courses in the Vocational Education (VE) College, the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) College, and the College of Business and Law (COBL).
Students and applicants can visit the designated page on the RMIT official website for detailed information on deferred registration and follow the instructions to apply. The page provides detailed steps and necessary document requirements to ensure a smooth application process.
The RMIT International Education Department stated that extending the registration deadline would provide affected students with more time to address visa issues, as well as offer them more flexibility and opportunities to arrange and prepare for their study journey.
"We understand the inconvenience and anxiety caused by visa processing delays to students, and therefore, we hope to alleviate their stress by extending the registration deadline, providing them with more time and opportunities to smoothly start their study journey," said a spokesperson from the RMIT International Education Department.
For students from the College of Design and Social Context (DSC), RMIT stated that the deferred registration date has not yet been confirmed, but they encourage students to closely follow the official website for the latest information and updates.
RMIT is committed to continuing to support and assist all affected students to ensure they can overcome any difficulties and successfully complete their studies.
