1. Main updates on admission
1. Application fee
The University of Melbourne has increased the application fee for international studentsfrom AUD 120 to AUD 130. This feewill take effect from January 1, 2024.
2. English test
Please note,the University of Melbournewill no longer accept any online English tests to meet the university's English language requirements.
Applicants who have submitted their application and completed the TOEFL iBT at Home or PTE Academic Online English test by 11:55 PM on Friday, July 14, 2023, will still have their results considered.3. Conditional CoE
Students eligible for conditional or packaged CoEs can now accept through the unconditional offer acceptance system acceptance portal
Although acceptance documents no longer need to be uploaded to the application system, they still need to be provided in the acceptance portal,
applicable to students who have been offered a conditional CoE based on academic results (usually mid-year students from India, China, or Vietnam) or a packaged Hawthorn language CoE.Note: Students accepting UMELBP offers must also upload all CoEs (UMELP and UMELBP preparatory courses

, Undergraduate application updates1. Direct application for mid-year intake
Starting from
July 2024,the University of Melbourne will accept direct mid-year intake applications from the following international applicants withoutthe need to apply throughVTAC:International applicants studying Australian interstate Year 12 qualification courses (such as WACE or SACE) in the northern hemisphere

Student educational background detailsAs the University of Melbourne increasingly uses automation in some assessment processes, please ensure that the applicant's secondary and/or tertiary educational background is accurately filled out and the relevant qualification is correctly selected when assisting undergraduate applicants to submit their online application.
Educational background and qualification details are crucial for shortening our application turnaround times, especially for Year 12 (secondary school) applicants. If the correct secondary school qualification is not selected in the application, and/or the student educational background details are not correctly filled out, it will cause delays in the assessment of undergraduate applications.3. Private institutions' OSSD
The University will only consider OSSD applicants from private schools under the following conditions:
The private OSSD school the applicant has studied at
- is not entirely online; andthe applicant has completed all 30 credits in the OSSD program at the school, or, where equivalent credits have been granted, prior study was through an approved pathway; and
- the private school is inspected by the Ontario Ministry of Education and has the authority to grant credits leading to the OSSD.

, Graduate application updates1. Application preference order
When applying for graduate courses, please note
that a maximum of three preferences can be selected,please list the mostpreferred course as the first choice, followed by the second and third preferred courses.The University of Melbourne admissions team will assess preferences in descending order starting with the first preference.
If a studentreceives an offer for the first preference course, then the subsequent preferences (second or third) will not be assessed.If no offer is received for the first preference but you are eligible and competitive enough for the second preference, you will receive an offer for the second preference, and so on.

The deadline for international applications for mid-year 2024 intake is March 31, 2024.There is still high demand from international students for these courses, and they may reach capacity early. Therefore, prospective students are advised to apply early and carefully note any deadlines.
High-achieving applicants will receive
rolling offers(and scholarship offers where applicable), and all other applicants will be considered during the April 2024 selection round, and will receive outcomes by early May 2024.4. Independent application portal for some courses at Melbourne Business SchoolAlthough MBSL is part of the University of Melbourne, the application process for courses offered by MBSL is independent.

6,Faculty of Arts updatesThe Faculty of Arts has seen unprecedented demand for our graduate programs for the 2024 intakes. As a result, we had to move forward the application closing date and had to select applicants for many programs at WAM scores higher than the minimum requirements.
