When you study the Master of Professional Psychology you will be taught primarily by practicing psychologists who are focused on preparing you to step into this exclusive profession with confidence. Throughout the course you will have opportunities to build relationships with your teachers and peers, meaning you can build your professional networks before you even graduate.Our approach is fully built around a community-focused, scientist-practitioner model, with an ungraded-pass methodology that focusses on collegiality, competency development, and a genuine depth and breadth of learning that builds confidence and competence in the profession of psychology practice.When you study with us, you receive regular mentorship, collaborative learning, and a dynamic support network not as a student, but as an early career colleague, as we are dedicated to your success.As the national leader in program-wide Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCE), you will have opportunities throughout your learning to practice your skills in the moment.On successful completion of the Master of Professional Psychology, graduates will be eligible to undertake a sixth year (the +1 year) of supervised practice. The one-year supervised practice internship is organised between a graduate and their employer, with approval by the Psychology Board of Australia, and leads to general registration as a psychologist, with approval by the Psychology Board of Australia.For International students onlyA student visa will cover the duration of your Master's program only. To undertake the additional one year of supervised practice, you will be required to apply for a different visa subclass to lawfully remain in Australia during that period.     The Family Alumni Bursary provides international students who have a parent, sibling or sibling who has studied at the University of Tasmania or currently studies at the University of Tasmania with a 10% reduction in tuition fees for the duration of their course. Students must be able to prove that they have a parent or sibling who has studied at the University of Tasmania or currently studies at the University of Tasmania. Students must also attach the following certified documents with their application to prove their eligibility for the Family Alumni Bursary: 1.
