English for Academic Purposes prepares international students for undergraduate and postgraduate studies at Charles Darwin University. English for Academic Purposes is designed for students who have met the academic requirements of their program but have not yet met the English language requirements. The course builds both English Language skills and the academic skills students need to succeed at the university.This course is delivered in partnership with UP Education, whose approach fulfills the commitment to learning by prioritising students, delivering high-quality teaching, upholding strict academic standards and helping students to be well-rounded.Small classes and specialist teachers provide a supportive, inclusive, and effective learning environment in which students can build their confidence before transitioning into an Australian University environment.As an EAP student, you will Improve your speaking and listening skills through a broad range of interactive classroom activitiesImprove your academic reading and writing skills through engagement with a range of academic textsGain exposure to the types of assessment tasks you encounter during your university degreeDevelop the independent learning skills required to succeed at CDULearn to confidently use CDU learning technologies in a supported environment.There are two levels of English for Academic Purposes (EAP 3 and EAP 4) which can be taken separately, or together, depending on a student's English entry level and their destination degree. Each EAP level requires full-time participation over 10 weeks with a 20 hour weekly class requirement.Upon successful completion, students will be eligible for entry into a selection of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs at CDU.[112343A]
