Advises clients on security requirements, and recommends and designs security specifications. Registration or licensing may be required.

Job Description

  • Patrolling property and checking doors, windows and gates for unauthorised entry
  • Watching for irregularities such as fire hazards, malfunctions of machines and equipment, lights left on, leaking water pipes and unlocked security doors
  • Issuing security passes to authorised visitors and giving directions
  • Monitoring alarms and contacting supervisors, police and fire brigades by radio or phone if security is breached or fire is detected
  • Picking up and ensuring the safe delivery of cash, payrolls and valuables
  • Operating coin and currency counting machines, and carrying out cash counting and packaging functions
  • Maintaining order at venues where there are large gatherings of people
  • Conducting investigations for clients and preparing evidence for court proceedings
  • Detecting and investigating theft and other unlawful acts carried out in retail establishments
  • Advising clients on security requirements and designing security specifications

      1. Select a nominated occupation for assessment based on the purpose of your visa application;
      1. Through the VETASSESS online application system, fill in the form, deduct the fee, and upload the documents;
      1. Track the progress of your application and follow its status;
      1. If additional documents are required, VETASSESS will send an email notification;
      1. After completing your skills assessment application, you can view the results and download the result letter in the VETASSESS online application system. A copy of the result letter will not be mailed to you unless you request it in your skills assessment application and pay for the postage.

    Work Experience Requirements

      1. The major is highly relevant, with at least one year of relevant work experience after graduation in the past five years;
      1. The major is not highly relevant, and at least two years of relevant work experience after graduation in the past five years;
      1. If you do not have a diploma equivalent to an Australian Level 4 Certificate, but have an Australian Level 3 Certificate that is highly relevant to your nominated occupation, you will need to have at least three years of relevant post-graduation work experience in the past five years.
