Group B|Visit to the Great Wall (长城)
The VYLC Group B visited one of the world’s seven wonders this week as they commenced their Chinese culture and language study.
Michelle Chong from Doncaster Secondary College gives us her impression of her experience.
“On Wednesday the 19th of October, we had a group trip to the Great Wall of China in Badaling (八达岭).
On the way there we had an amazing tour guide which told us stories and different laws in China. The story Burton told was very interesting and caused the bus full of VYLC students to be on the edge of their seats throughout the entire story .
Before we went to the Great Wall of China, we were all assigned dragon groups which we had to complete challenges with at the Great Wall. During my trip at the Great Wall of China I was excited but moreover nervous.
Climbing down the steep part of Great Wall was the hardest challenge of the entire trip. I really enjoyed this trip and wish to be able to complete a further trek the next time I come to Beijing.
By the end of the tiring and fun trip we finished it off by bargaining at the souvenir store. The trip at the Great Wall will be a trip I'll never forget.”
