墨爾本大學 Master of Data Science 數據科學碩士課程課程結構更新 （四個新專業方向，科目先修要求沒有變化，網課補充前置）

我们很高兴地分享，墨尔本大学的 Master of Data Science  数据科学硕士课程最近进行了课程结构和入学要求的修订。

此次修订包括四个新专业方向，旨在为学生提供更好地根据其现有资格和职业目标量身定制课程的机会。这四个新专业方向是：

• 基础数据科学  Foundational Data Science  
• 统计数据科学 Statistical Data Science
• 计算数据科学  Computational Data Science
• 计算与统计数据科学 Computational and Statistical Data Science.

基础数据科学专业方向专为没有统计学或计算机科学背景的学生而设，旨在帮助他们学习展示数据科学领域所需的基础技能。

现在，完成任何学科的三年（或同等）本科学位且加权平均分（WAM）至少为65%或同等的学生，将有资格申请为期两年的（200学分）数据科学硕士课程（基础数据科学专业方向）。

其余三个专业方向在入学时确定，并根据学生的教育背景选择。

We’re excited to share that the Master of Data Science course offering at the University of Melbourne has recently undergone a revision in its course structure and entry requirements, and we would like to ensure you are across these details when consulting prospective students.  

These revisions include four new specialisations which have been designed to give students the opportunity to better tailor the course to their existing qualifications and career goals. These four new specialisations are:

• Foundational Data Science  
• Statistical Data Science
• Computational Data Science
• Computational and Statistical Data Science.

The Foundational Data Science specialisation has been specifically created for students without prior qualifications in Statistics or Computer Science, to learn the foundational skills required to demonstrate their expertise in the Data Science field.

Students will now be eligible for the 2-year (200 point) Master of Data Science program (Foundational Data Science specialisation) with a completed 3-year (or equivalent) undergraduate degree in any discipline, with a weighted average mark (WAM) of at least 65% or equivalent. You can continue to utilize our Grade Conversion Eligibility Calculator to undertake a preliminary assessment of students’ eligibility regarding the WAM requirements.  

The remaining three specialisations are determined at the time of admission into the program and are selected on the basis of a students’ previous education background. Attached to this email you will find an information sheet outlining these specialisations in further detail.

These modifications will make the program more accessible to students from diverse educational backgrounds, while upholding our commitment to excellence in statistical and computational data science learning outcomes.

There are no changes to the subject prerequisite requirements for this program, noting that each subject prerequisite can be met by completing an online Coursera course prior to receiving an offer. Please refer to the Master of Data Science study page for further information.
