Are you an aspiring high school teacher with an existing degree in another field? This course will equip you to teach in WA secondary schools after one year of full-time study with provisional registration. A key feature of this course is 50 days of professional experience, which will allow you to make the essential connection between theory and practice whilst building both professional and generic skills in real teaching environments. This course is delivered through partnerships between the University and individual schools, allowing you to gain experience in a range of settings, including public, metropolitan, rural, regional and remote schools.Upon graduation, you will be eligible to teach in a major and minor area of study in secondary schools in both the private and government sector. This course is nested within ECU’s nationally accredited Master of Teaching (Secondary) course. You are encouraged to continue studying and complete the master’s course which meets state and national requirements for full registration to teach in Secondary schools.[114761M]
