The qualification produces data scientists or analysts with high level skills and knowledge to code, analyse and solve complex data related problems using computing, mathematical and statistical techniques.

An individual in this role can analyse or develop software solutions to solve complex data problems. An individual can use techniques of data collection, exploration and analysis, machine learning, statistics and mathematics in data related problem solving and generate useful insights.

Additionally, graduates of the course will be able to perform the following functions and specialist tasks:

* Develop and apply knowledge in a broad range of methods based on statistics and computing and use these for analysis and problem solving

* Identify approaches to solve specific problems using data, making sense out of data and automating the process of decision making.
