Taylors College Sydney Key Updates
We would like to share with you some updates regarding Taylors College University of Sydney Preparation Programs (USPP).

In light of recent Government announcements and as part of our continuous improvement processes, Taylors College Sydney - in partnership with the University of Sydney - has made some adjustments to our recruitment strategy for our Foundation Preparation Programs. Please find detailed information below regarding:

• The availability of USFP programs;
• The introduction of differentiated English entry requirements for selected packaged degrees; and
• The importance of ensuring students make well informed decisions.

These new measures aim to give your students the best opportunity to progress to their chosen packaged degree at the University.
Also included in this update is information about revised tuition fees for 2025.

Update 1: Availability of USPP programs

Recently the University of Sydney updated you on the impact of caps on the availability of university degree places. In line with this approach, USPP programs have been allocated caps linked to students’ packaged undergraduate degrees.

With limited capacity for individual packaged degrees, there may be instances where applications are closed for New Overseas Student Commencement (NOSC) students but still available for exempted categories of students (non-NOSC). We will soon release a simple way for you to track availability for individual degrees.

Please note that the total student enrolment volume at Taylors College has not decreased for 2025. Our USPPs remain a key education pathway into the University of Sydney. We remain committed to attracting the best and the brightest students from diverse backgrounds into a range of undergraduate degrees at the University of Sydney via the Taylors College pathway.

Update 2: Differentiated English language requirements for USFP programs

Effective 28 October 2024, all new applications for packaged degrees will be assessed against new English language requirements. These will be more closely aligned to the student's packaged University of Sydney degree.

This decision has been made to ensure consistency and fairness in our admissions process. It reflects our commitment to maintaining high standards for English language proficiency across all programs, while giving our students the best opportunity to progress to their desired packaged degree at the University of Sydney.

With this revised approach, you will find that English entry requirements for some programs remain unchanged, while others have increased slightly. English language requirements into the High Achievers Program (HAPP) remain unchanged.

Please advise your students accordingly and ensure that any new application reflects any change to English language requirements.

Impact on applications under assessment and offers made

• For applications currently under assessment:
• All applications currently under assessment will be reviewed according to existing entry requirements until 27 October 2024. All new applications received from 28  October 2024 will be assessed according to the new English entry requirements.
• For offers already made:
• Current offers will be reviewed according to existing entry requirements. From 28 October 2024 all offers that have not been finalised (i.e. accepted and paid) will be re-  assessed based on the new entry requirements.
• For applicants who have accepted their offer (paid) and meet the existing English language requirements policy, offers will be honoured.
• For applicants who defer their offers, they will be re-assessed to ensure they meet the new criteria. For those who no longer meet the criteria, we will recommend alternative study options or package programs where possible.

Update 3: Focus on informed student decision-making when choosing packaged degrees.

We encourage you to prioritise counselling students on making well-informed decisions regarding their choice of packaged degrees. This will help ensure they have the best possible chance of successfully progressing to their chosen degree at the University of Sydney. Students may not be able to change their preference easily in a capped environment so ensuring they select the correct package for their intended degree at the point of applying to Taylors College is essential.

Update 4: Updated 2025 USP and AEP pricing

In line with our annual pricing review across Navitas, effective 28 October 2024 we will introduce updated tuition fees for programs commencing in 2025. For current offers that are accepted and paid for by 27 October 2024, we will honour the existing pricing as stated on the offer letter. From 28 October 2024 all new applications and existing offers will be subject to our new pricing and will be re-issued accordingly.
