THIS COURSE IS RESTRICTED TO STUDENTS ENROLLED IN THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMS: 1086/1279 Bachelor of Urban and Environmental Planning OR 1431/1432 Bachelor of Urban and Environmental Planning (Honours) OR 1512/1516 Bachelor of Urban and Environmental Planning/Bachelor of Science OR 1635 Bachelor of Urban and Environmental Planning (Honours)/Bachelor of Science. Undertaking a Planning Practicum Course is compulsory for all students studying within the Urban and Environmental Planning Programs at Griffith University. In this course we collegially explore issues underpinning contemporary planning practice such as: planning ethics; professionalism; education and the practice-theory relationship; and the boundaries, scope and role of the profession. Students also contribute their ideas for the continuing development and advancement of the profession. To participate, students must either (a) undertake a specified period of approved work placement in a planning related role within a specified time frame or (b) be employed in a professional planning role. Pre-enrolment assistance and guidance is provided for students seeking work placement. PRE-REQUISITE: Students must have completed 210 credit points or have the permission of the Course Convenor before enrolling in this course.
