Following the successful completion of the Semester 1, 2025 intake, the admissions team is closely monitoring our degree offerings at both the undergraduate and postgraduate coursework levels for the remainder of the year. We strongly encourage you to advise your students to take prompt action for Semester 2, 2025 intake.

In additional to our own enrolment targets, we would like to remind you again of the impact of the priority processing of student visas under Ministerial Direction 111 (MD111). As we have reached 80% of the government's threshold for new commencing students' visas for 2025, your students may require up to 16 weeks for their visa applications to be processed by the Department of Home Affairs (DHA). We know many universities have now also reached their 80% and that students are aware of the possible extended processing time across many institutions. As yet, there is no set consistency on processing times, so we ask you to assist us in ensuring applicants have reasonable expectations around possible timelines from DHA.

Internally all application assessments for Semester 2, 2025 will be prioritised. Unconditional offers will be issued in rounds for strict quota courses, while other courses will follow a rolling offer process until they are near capacity. Applicants on the waitlist, where applicable, will be considered for any spots that become available. We encourage all applicants on the waitlist to consider applying for the 2026 intakes which are open now.

Please note that applicants who are waitlisted may be ranked for an offer. Those who are not ranked high enough will be notified that their application either remains on a waitlist or is lapsed.

In addition, as we approach our program quotas, any offers that are not fully accepted or lack payment evidence will be withdrawn, and applicants will be notified via email.

Applications Submitted before the Closure

Applications that have already been submitted will be processed, and students will be waitlisted once they become eligible for unconditional offers.

Packaged Offers

Offer holders with packaged courses, including the Centre for English Teaching and University of Sydney Foundation packages, will have their offers remain valid until their results are released. Provided they meet the course admission requirements, their places are guaranteed in the packaged program.

Credit Application and Offer Acceptance

Applicants who applied for credit but have not yet received an outcome can choose to cancel their applicant credit application, accept their offer to secure their place, and then reapply for student credit once enrolment opens.

Reminder of Special Admissions Process

The deadline to request the Special Admissions Process (SAP/OSAP) for the Semester 2, 2025 intake is Friday, April 4, 2025. To ensure that your students are considered for this process, please submit the completed request form along with all necessary supporting documents before the deadline to ensure timely processing. If you have any questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to us via email

Offer Waitlist Process

As per our standard process, once the acceptance deadline for an unconditional offer has passed, the offer will be lapsed. We understand that students may sometimes miss their acceptance deadline due to unforeseen circumstances and may still be interested in pursuing a place in the course. To accommodate this, we have implemented a new process that allows some students to return to the waitlist to be reconsidered for an offer if a place becomes available. Once the unconditional offer expires, we may send invitations to a selected number of students to confirm their interest in being placed on a waitlist.

Please assist your students with their decision and email us your confirmation.

It is important to note that admission to some courses is highly competitive, and we cannot guarantee that your students will receive an invitation or an unconditional offer again for the same intake.
