In-country Manager
Location: Central China or West China
The In-country Manager will predominantly be responsible for the sales & marketing of UOW and managing the agent channels with support from the Australia based UOW staff. This role will be responsible for implementing the China Student Recruitment Strategy together with the Global Student Recruitment team. The In-country Manager China will be a key support position for the China student recruitment channels and will play a key role in supporting the Global student recruitment in meeting recruitment targets.
Major Responsibilities
1.Relationship Management
Build and maintain relations with key external clients including agents and key institutional sources of students from the region and manage the ongoing operational elements of these relationships with the relevant parties, including UOW Faculties and UOW College Australia.
Monitor agent performance, organise ongoing agent training and provide miscellaneous support to agents’ development and maintenance of UOW presence on digital/social media platforms such as Weibo, Wechat, the Red, Bilibili, and Zhihu.
2. Recruitment Events
Participate in recruitment fairs, exhibitions, agent interviews programs, seminars, and other forums in China under the direction from the reporting line manager.
Coordinate and plan for agency workshops when required
3. Reporting to Global Recruitment Staff
Stay abreast and provide market intelligence to International Recruitment team on the latest trends in marketing and communication, and market developments impacting on the recruitment of students from the designated region through ongoing market and competitor analysis.
Report on recruitment event effectiveness and agent performance through regular written documents and reports.
Provide support to staff from the UOW as required during visits to the region.
Reporting Relationships
Position Reports to: Head of Global Student Recruitment – Greater China and Mongolia
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in marketing or similar field.
Up to three years of relevant experience working in student recruitment in China.
Knowledgeable of the Chinese and Australian education system, admission procedures and infrastructure
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills in both Chinese and English.
Demonstrated initiative, proactive approach and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Overseas study, preferably in Australia, is desirable but not required.
