1. ECU STEM Special Bursary is here!

Semester 1, 2026International freshmen are in luck!
International students admitted to the following undergraduate or coursework master's programs at ECU's Joondalup campus in Perth are eligible to apply for the STEM Bursary:

  • School of Engineering
  • School of Science
  • School of Medical and Health Sciences

Bursary amount: Total AUD 5,000
Distributed in two installments, AUD 2,500 each semester after the census date (first two semesters)

Important Dates

  • Opening time: September 30, 2025
  • Closing time: December 19, 2025

Eligibility - Applicants must:

  • Be full-fee paying international students on campus (excluding Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents, or New Zealand citizens);
  • Be enrolled in undergraduate or coursework master's programs in Engineering, Science, or Medical and Health Sciences at ECU's Joondalup campus at the start of Semester 1, 2026;
  • Accept the offer and pay the first semester tuition fees by December 19, 2025, as per the offer letter requirements;
  • Be new international students directly entering ECU's Joondalup campus in Semester 1, 2026 (i.e., not through pathway programs, not current ECU students, except ECU alumni);
  • Not have received government scholarships or industry funding.

Application Method
No separate application is needed. The system will automatically identify eligible students and disburse the bursary after the census date in Semester 1, 2026.

2. ECU has now officially been promoted to EL1 University

This means ECU's risk level has been reduced to the lowest, bringing tangible visa convenience to Chinese students.
Even though China's overall visa risk has been adjusted to Level 2, students applying to ECU still enjoy a smoother visa process.
