I. Faculty of Arts, Design, and Architecture
- Master of Education – New Teaching Areas The Master of Secondary Education has added three minors and teaching areas: Textile and Fashion Design, Design and Technology, and Computer Technology. These new areas will be available starting from the first semester of 2026.
- Undergraduate Courses Added Minor Directions Starting from the first semester of 2026, Game Design and 'Games and Society' can be taken as minor directions, applicable to the following courses: Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Social Sciences, Bachelor of Design, and Bachelor of Communication.
Digital Social Sciences and 'Community Work' minors will also be added to the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Social Sciences courses.
II. Business School and Law School
- Launch of the New Specialization 'AI in Business and Society' This interdisciplinary specialization is applicable to the following courses: Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Economics, Bachelor of Actuarial Studies, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Social Sciences, and will be a new specialization for the Master of Commerce (MOC) and Master of Commerce Extension (MOCE).
- Master of Laws Specialization Update Starting from 2026, the Master of Laws will offer five specializations, reduced from the original eight, reflecting the faculty's core strengths and academic expertise: Corporate and Commercial Law, Criminal Justice and Criminology, Human Rights Law and Policy, International Law, Technology, Intellectual Property and Media Law
III. Faculty of Engineering
- UNSW Launches Australia's First Undergraduate Specialization in Nuclear Engineering The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) now includes a specialization in Nuclear Engineering. This cutting-edge course aims to develop students' careers in clean energy, advanced reactors, and nuclear safety.
- Biomedical Engineering Now Available as a Single Degree: Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Biomedical Engineering) In addition to being available as a double degree, Biomedical Engineering can now be pursued as a four-year single degree Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) course.
IV. Faculty of Science
- New Biophysics Direction: Biophysics Starting from the first semester of 2026, the Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours) will add Biophysics as a major and minor. Biophysics is an exciting interdisciplinary field that connects physics and biology.
- New Drone Applications Minor: Drone Applications The Drone Applications minor has been introduced to the Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours), and Bachelor of Aviation Management, and will be available starting from the first semester of 2026.
- Bachelor of Aviation (Remote Pilot Systems) Admission Requirements Update Changes in admission requirements include: Removal of the 40-hour manned flight experience requirement; No longer need to submit an on-campus application form; No longer require an interview; Reduced flight costs. Students will need to pay the 'drone flight training fees' for this degree themselves. Students will be notified of the specific fees in the year of enrollment.
V. Faculty of Medicine and Health and Graduate School
- Graduate Certificate in Vision Impairment Can Now Be Completed Online International students with a bachelor's degree in any discipline can choose to study this course entirely online. International students can take courses related to vision impairment, vision rehabilitation, and public health through interactive online learning. *Note: If international students choose the fully online study mode, they are not eligible to apply for an Australian student visa.
- Applications for 2026 Research Degree Courses Are Now Open Applications for PhD, Master's by Research, and Master of Philosophy courses and scholarships for the second and third semesters of 2026.
- Application deadline is Friday, September 5, 2025

- 2026 International Student Entrance Scholarship (PUCA1029) Application Dates Announced (Need to register and apply through the system yourself) First semester 2026: August 1, 2025 – October 30, 2025 Second semester 2026: December 1, 2025 – February 26, 2026 Third semester 2026: April 1, 2026 – June 18, 2026
