Griffith adds new GD Early Childhood Education program! The second GD Early Childhood Education in the Brisbane area.

Griffith University is delighted to announce the launch of a new Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education, a one-year program designed to prepare future educators for impactful careers in early childhood teaching.
Program: Graduate Diploma of Early Childhood Education
Duration: 1 year
Academic Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or
- Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care + 5 years of work experience (with at least five years of experience working in Australian early childhood institutions and having undertaken relevant leadership responsibilities)
Accepted Languages:
- A minimum overall band score of 6.5 on IELTS (Academic) with no sub-score of less than 6.0
- OR a minimum score of 575 on TOEFL
- OR an internet-based (iBT) TOEFL score of 79 (no sub-score less than 19)
- OR no score less than 3+ in each skill of the ISLPR (conducted by ISLPR Language Services only)
- OR a minimum overall score of 176 (no score less than 169) on C1 Advanced (formerly Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English) or C2 Proficiency (formerly Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English)
- OR an overall score of 58 in the Pearson Test of English (Academic) with no score less than 50.
- No language bridging program: The Direct Entry Program (DEP) pathway is not accepted for this program.
Following VU Brisbane, this is the second GD in Early Childhood Education in the Brisbane area.

GELI orientation sessions
To provide students with an enhanced in-person experience, GELI will now be holding orientation only on the Friday before classes commence in person. All on-boarding communications for GELI students commencing from February 2025 will reflect the new compulsory orientation date for their English class. This will allow students to plan their arrival in Australia so they can join the orientation session. The in-person sessions on the Friday before classes commence will continue to be supported by a suite of online sessions that will be delivered to newly commenced students in Week 1 of their English classes.

Simple secret to a longer life
If everyone was as active as the top 25 per cent of the population, individuals over the age of 40 could add five years to their life, according to a new study led by Griffith University researchers. This latest study used US-based accelerometry data to gain an accurate view of a population’s physical activity levels instead of relying on survey responses as per other studies, and found the benefits were around twice as strong as previous estimates.
